ROYAL GRASS BRINGS NATURAL BEAUTY TO THIS NOVATO COURTYARD
This Novato project shows how the right artificial grass can completely enhance an established landscape. Better Than Real Artificial Grass installed approximately 300 square feet of Royal Grass in a beautifully designed courtyard. The area sits beside the four-hole putting green we also installed at the property. However, this section had a completely different purpose. Here, the goal was to create an elegant green landscape that would complement the mature trees, shrubs, flowers, walkways, and outdoor seating areas. Royal Grass was an excellent choice because of its dense construction, realistic blades, and natural-looking appearance. The finished lawn brings rich green color into the courtyard without taking attention away from the existing gardens. See the premium turf options we offer on our Artificial Grass Products page.
AN IRREGULAR LANDSCAPE BECOMES PART OF THE DESIGN
Artificial grass installations do not need to be square or rectangular to look beautiful. In fact, this Novato courtyard had an irregular shape, curved concrete borders, planting areas, and an existing mature tree within the turf area. Instead of removing those features, we designed the installation around them. Our installers carefully measured and cut the Royal Grass to follow the curves of the courtyard and fit precisely around the tree. As a result, the synthetic lawn looks integrated into the original landscape rather than added afterward. Precise edges are especially important in spaces like this because every curve remains visible from the surrounding walkways and seating areas. Professional preparation and detailed finishing helped create smooth transitions throughout the project. You can see other transformations in our Artificial Grass Before & After Projects gallery.

REALISTIC BLADES CREATE THE APPEARANCE OF NATURAL GRASS
One of the most impressive characteristics of Royal Grass is how realistic it looks after professional installation. The individual blades, density, texture, and natural green tones create the appearance of a carefully maintained lawn. In this courtyard, that realism was particularly important because the artificial turf sits directly beside living trees, shrubs, flowers, and other natural landscaping. Therefore, the grass needed to complement those elements rather than look artificial next to them. The approximately 300-square-foot area now provides a lush visual centerpiece that remains consistently attractive throughout the seasons. At the same time, the courtyard avoids the mowing, reseeding, and routine lawn irrigation associated with natural grass. A LOW-MAINTENANCE GREEN SPACE FOR A SENIOR LIVING COURTYARD
Beautiful landscaping plays an important role in shared outdoor environments. This senior living courtyard already offered mature gardens, shaded seating, tables, umbrellas, and comfortable areas where residents could spend time outdoors. The new Royal Grass lawn adds another layer of greenery while keeping landscape maintenance practical. Because synthetic turf requires no mowing and no routine lawn irrigation, the property can maintain an attractive green area without the regular care required by natural grass. Furthermore, the surface avoids mud and bare patches that can develop in small, frequently used lawn areas. The finished installation works especially well because it does not attempt to replace the surrounding natural landscape. Instead, artificial grass and established plantings work together to create an inviting courtyard. Explore our Commercial Artificial Grass Installation services for other shared properties.
